Hey folks. Been a while since I tried to mess with a game so I may be out of practice (was kind of a noob anyway), but all my latest attempts have been completely thwarted.
I'm trying to make a no damage trainer cheat for Street Legal Racing Redline, v3.2.0.
So there seem to be a lot of threads to pull on. Every car part has a a value for "wear" and "tear" written as a %, as well as the current monetary value of the part (based on codition). These are presented in a table in one of the menus. There is a also a % value given by mousing over a particular car part, which is very close to the "tear" value.
You can pay to fix parts in the game, but a small amount of permanent damage will always remain. So you can have a new part at 100%, smash it up to 30%. When you repair it, it will go back up to 99%.
Ok, so first thing I looked for was the % value they give in the mouseover. Damage, next search, fix, next search... eventually left me 0 results. Then I tried the same thing with the % values in the menus. Same result. Then I thought I'd try the monetary value and the results were interesting, but confusing.
The search always returns two addresses separated by 1c000. When I change the value and re-search, the values in those addresses don't change at all. However if I open a new scan tab and search for the current values, it will again return two addresses separated by 1c000. And interestingly those addresses are separated from the addresses where the previous values were stored by 10FA0.
This is where I seem to end up in gamehacking too often. It seems like I'm on to something, but can't quite get further. If I can just get an address that I can trace to the routine that adds damage, I'm hoping I can just nop it or do some injection.
So any suggestions, hints, answers, nudges, or encouragement is appreciated. Thanks
Interestingly enough, hacking money in the game takes about 2 seconds. Search the value. Usually only one value comes back.
