How do I cheat?

I have looked to no avail for a solution to my problem so I am hoping someone here has the solution for me. I am trying to scan a data structure starting at 10040000 but when I try to scan anything inside the structure it doesn't show in the scan. I can add it manually to the address list and it will work just fine but it won't search the memory region.

Check the flags of that memory. If it's not writable you shouldn't do a scan for writable memory only.(make writable grey or empty, not checked)
Also, if it's mapped memory go to ce's setting and tick the mem_mapped option

It was mapped memory, thank you so much. Didn't think that cheat engine would not scan it by default.
