|
|
Hey everyone,
I've been trying to find this particular value in Minecraft for a while now, but no matter how much I've learned about Cheat Engine the past few weeks, I just can't find the value being used for oxygen.
As a last resort, I set the value type to "All" and scan type to "Unknown initial value." I've tried the first scan both before jumping into water, and after jumping into water (which is when the oxygen meter appears), then searching for decreased/unchanged values accordingly. Also, I've tried searching for increased value instead of decreased value, just in case oxygen was a static value with another incrementing byte being subtracted from it as you lose oxygen.
I'm at a loss at this point. I can find values for everything else I've searched for in Minecraft, but oxygen has defeated me so far. Any ideas?
Thanks!

It might be encrypted and dynamic..
So try changed/unchanged only..

Thanks so much for the suggestion; I'll give that a shot right now and let you know how I fair!
EDIT:
Well, no luck. I still end up with the same result. I tried the "All" + "Unknown initial value" combination in conjunction with changed/unchanged value searches, but to no avail. To note, I only searched for "unchanged value" after searching for a changed value when oxygen decreased and I paused the game.
I also tried selecting "Float," thinking that perhaps the value changes rapidly and continuously, thus only searching for "changed value" when rapidly unpausing/pausing the game, but I can't get the results down beyond 13,000 -- even when searching for "unchanged value" while paused.
I just think it's really odd how I'm having this issue with just oxygen, yet not with anything else in the game (health, hunger, blocks, weapons/armor, etc.). Perhaps I'm overthinking things, but I'm still stumped, regardless. Sad
Thanks for any additional recommendations!

Try String.
I know couple of games that uses string to stores values and etc.

No dice with that one, either. I fear I need to learn more techniques with CE to figure this one out. I did some Googling and saw that there have been CE tables in the past that allow for infinite oxygen, so I know that the value has been found by others -- in older revisions of the game, at least -- so I may just have to try to contact one of those folks to see what they did.
Alternately, I'd love if someone here gave it a shot, just to see what I've been up against. Heck, for all I know, I've been overlooking something ridiculously simple this whole time. lol.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions so far, DaSpamer. This value sure is a tricky one to find!

Okay, so, I just picked up on how to do percentage-based scans. Even doing a bunch of scans of this nature (searching for both a decrease and increase in percentages), I STILL cannot find the value for oxygen!
Any Minecraft players here who mind giving this a shot? I'm so ridiculously frustrated that I can't find this ONE value! Everything else in the game is super-easy to find.
Any suggestions or other attempts would be much-appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: Apparently, this issue is bigger than I thought. It used to be just oxygen that I couldn't find; however, now with the latest revision of Minecraft, I can't find any of the values! Looks like they have some kind of randomizing value stuff at work. Hmm...
EDIT 2: If anyone happens to see this, the issue is apparently due to an overhaul in how Minecraft runs now. Think client/server config. So, I guess I was pulling my hair out for nothing.

maybe you should scan at a 1-byte alignment (fast scan: 1 instead of 4). and scan for a 1 byte value.
