Cheat Engine

So for the past 2 hours, I've been searching all over the Steam forums, various modding sites, and perhaps even a thread or two on here for an answer to my question(s) with no luck. I also apologize if this is in the wrong section, by the way.

So on Black Ops 1, I would load up Zombies, solo, usually Call of the Dead, and go offline and play in peace. I would use commands like no-clip and god mode by binding the commands in the config. I would also use Cheat Engine to mod my points, simply so I could just explore and buy whatever I wanted.

Now in Black Ops 2, IIRC you can't bind via the config which I'm fine with.
What I'm curious about is modding my points again. With Black Ops 2, you can no longer go offline. Disconnecting your internet will kick you from the game and I've been told that VAC is also running even in solo zombies games.

Is there any workaround to playing zombies offline? Or at least without VAC?
I just want to play a custom game, mod my points up a bit, without affecting anyone else, nor the leaderboards. Just messing around in Tranzit by myself. Is there any way to safely do this? What're the realistic chances that I'll be banned for modding my points in a custom, unranked, solo zombies game?
