So I learned how ta make working trainers a few days ago(..probably yesterday). I did the tutorial 'n did the whole find out what writes/accesses this address thing.
..It didn't work.
As soon as I changed the value of the thing I was trying ta find out what wrote/accessed, the game I was playing crashed.
So I was kind of mad I did the tutorial because I couldn't really use any of the new stuff I learned. e-e
I kind of felt like I was never gonna learn how ta make working trainers.. I kept thinking about pointers because some one on the forums told me about them, so I uh, couldn't stop thinking about what pointers were. Especially since I didn't really do the last step of the tutorial 'n I felt like that had some thing ta do with trainers..
So I was kind of nervous 'n didn't wanna ask you guys since I felt like i'd be bothering people 'n also felt a little stupid since I couldn't finish the tutorial. e-e So I went ta youtube 'n searched for CE multi-level pointers.
I found a video tutorial of pointer scanning. After that.. I was all over table and trainer making. Since I could actually make working ones.
The only problem is.. I feel like i'm doing some thing wrong. First off, my tables 'n trainers stop working during the game. ..Sorry i'm kind of bad at explaining things.. Er, well for example, every time i'm using a table, 'n i'm in the middle of a cutscene in dead space 3.. the value of most of every thing in my table turns into question marks, 'n then after the cutscenes over, every thing turns back into their right values.. But uh, some times when I get into a cutscene.. the value AND the address changes..
'N at the end of the cutscene every thing doesn't really go back ta normal.. those values stay question marks.. Or turn 0, or some other random number I think.
..Yeah.. felt like I didn't ask that right.. But I spent so much time typing it so.. think i'll just hit submit 'n see what happens any way.

In the pointer scanner you most likely had many many results, and added one of them in your cheat table... It turn out you didn't pick the right one, so make rescans, for example during a cutscene and pick another pointer.
Things that are useful to do between pointer rescans:
-load a save game
-restart game (and start at another level).
-change graphic options (like from all minimum to all maxed out)
-reboot computer (does more than just restarting the game)
Using the "rescan until stopped" and playing for several minutes/seconds can also have a nice effect.
Oh and, you didn't do anything wrong with the pointerscanner imo, you just weren't lucky. Beginners and pros alike have issues with stable (or not) pointers.
