|
|
Hello. I was trying to search a pointer for game but it found nothing. I was using many tutorials, one said we need to use "Pointer scan for this address", another said to use "Find out what writes to this address" but none of those tutorials worked. I think, the problem is that I was searching pointer for 1 Byte Value and tutorials were for 4 Bytes Value. Could someone, please, tell me how to find good pointers? I'm using the newest version of CE - 6.2. I also wonder if it sure should be 1 Byte Value, because when I was using older versions of CE it searched 4 Bytes, so I don't know what's happening at all.
Thanks in advance.

The pointerscanner does not care about the length. It only cares about the address
If you do a pointerscan for value scan it just does a scan for that value and then starts a pointerscan for each address that was found
In short: first find the correct address (make sure it's correct by checking that it has indeed an effect in the game and not just visible) and then pointerscan for that address

OK, It found "some" pointers, and which one should I choose to be sure, that it will be working?
@Edit: I also have a problem, because CE doesn't search all the 4 Bytes Values I want (I tried to use another program to scan for my Armor value, and it found 4 Bytes but CE finds just 1 Byte, what is wrong with my CE? Maybe my settings are broken?) It looks like CE ignores some 4 Bytes Values.
@Edit2: I searched second time for the same value, and chose pointerscan for that address but it didn't find anything, but for the first time I searched it found something. Now it doesn't want do find any pointer. Why is that happening?
