I play a lot of Euro Truck Sim 2 - I also use Cheat Engine 6.2.

Back in the olden days, I used to be able to scan for, and change values relating to money and XP in the game, however now it seems to no longer work!

I scan for the money value for example (Exact value, 4 bytes - just like i always used to) which would typically return about 20 results, and using a process of elimination, I would change a value, go into the game, refresh the page and the results would show when I got it right. I have done it this way many, many times with no problem.

My issue now is, after the value gets changed, it doesn't appear to work If I get lets say 10 results, after changing all 10 - 1 after the other - and using the above process of elimination, after the last value has been changed, the value in the game remains unchanged??? Anyone able to help me???

So it used to work on this specific game in the past and now it doesn't?

Did you apply a patch or redownload the game recently?

Try scanning for values in the tutorial and see if that works. If that fails, try reinstalling cheat engine, or change the scanfolder to a location you do have overwrite permission (sometimes the temp folder in windows is made write once for some reason)

If scanning works then perhaps the game got changed. Try float or double. Or use changed/unchanged scans.

Also, disconnect from the internet while playing the game.

And perhaps you where just unlucky this one time and you didn't find it. Try scanning with fastscan off

Thank you Dark Byte for responding. I will spend some time today and work my way through the tutorials in 6.2 so I can learn what all that stuff means - and hopefully I can get it all working.

EDIT: Nup - I give up - I went right through the tutorial again, I'm doing everything right, but the value in the game will not change. I did a game update a few months ago but I've managed to change the values since doing the update to the game, so I don't think that is the issue. I also changed the temp folder like you said, but that didn't work either.

Any other ideas??? I just cannot get it to work and it's frustrating me

For those interested, 1E7F63D8 is a current address value for money. There are 3 associated, but that one I know to work.
