Well, I'm new here and I didn't know where to post this, so as it has something to do with crackmes, I post it here.
I have a VB.NET4 program which used to work this way:
1- You write user/pass on a login form.
2- Server checks your info, and if correct, you are brought to the main form.
Then someone edited it and made you can login to the program with any user/pass and even without internet connection. So what I want to ask here is that when you write user/pass and click "Login", you see a message which says "Connecting...", but the guy who edited it to make possible login without internet, also managed to change that text and write something like MaCrOs.
I've been trying to discover how did he do it, but I couldn't manage to guess.
Anyone could think how it should be done?
Here is the program that I mean, and the only edited file is the .exe
(Note this isn't the original software, in the original software you have to input a correct user/pass to login. In this one you can login with any user/pass, but you can see that when you click login, you will see how the "Connecting" message suddenly turns into "MaCrOs")
If some more information is required, just ask here and I will explain it more deeply.
Thanks in advance, and I'm sorry if I posted this in a wrong place :S
