Following a certain build is rarely good.

Adjust to the teams.
Need to burst someone down instantly, build a LB first (for example, if you've got a Blitz on your team, so you can instagib whoever he pulls, or if some squishy is the only one fed on their team).
Need to be able to fight a long fight (vs yorick, garen, ...), build RDC first.

And I'm amazed I actually have to say this.

rush liandrys+sorc shoes
guise gives you hp+ap which is good for your lane and the magic pen rapes people with continuous hate spike poke (with liandrys early in the game on top of that its lulz)

i play top laen eve as well tho i prefer to get rylais after liandry/sorc cause it gives you good kite power (bonus stacking passive movespeed when you hit anyone with hatespike, the slow from rylai, and your W if they get too close, also ult disengage if you fuck up liek retard)

i havent built lichbane on her since s1 since i usually itemize tanky ap to utilize her retarded effective health better (cap rounds it out nicely anyway after the tank stat (abyssal/zhonya)).
