I was bored so I decided to use the last.fm API and make a little recently played song grabber.
It re sizes the cover to 100x100 and caches the cover so it doesn't have to resize it each time which increased the performance decently. It's still not really fast enough to be practical though.
If anyone wants the source (it's a little messy and not OOP) I'll send it to you.
Here's an example:

oh yea I forgot to add a handler for missing usernames, gonna do that now.

meanwhile you arent really doing anything why don't you make a screenshot tool that will upload your screenie directly to twitter then give you the image direct url

Because I have no use for it. I'll look into it later tomorrow though and see.

EDIT: Just looked at the Javadoc for a twitter library and it seems pretty straightforward. I may actually code it up when I get back from my friend's.
