|
|
Hello everyone,
As of yesterday I've been suddenly getting a "Access violation" error while booting up Cheat Engine.
I have reinstalled it, rebooted, then I tried the other version (cheatengine-i386.exe), which DOES work, just a lot slower.
What can I do to fix this?

you're sure this is 6.2 and not 6.1 ?
And try disabling your anti virus. Some of them don't like the way I do some things which causes them to bug out (So if they add a hook somewhere and don't properly handle all possible call methods it will crash)

Yes, it was 6.2.
Your words about hooks got me to thinking what programs all screw around with other programs, and it turned out to be the program that handles my double taskbar among other things, with turning it off, it worked again, so I made an exception to not screw with it.
Thanks for the speedy response!
...Now I feel stupid for not linking that I updated that program and that CE stopped working.

Thanks, this solved my issue as well.
More specifically the program in question is actual multiple monitors, or actual window manager.
