Some article about how ISPs In US slow down internet speed and in some cases even disconnect households from internet because downloading illegal content. So I've got an idea. What if you would download some files that are zipped and password protected? Then they couldn't prove anything (because they wouldn't know password) and that way not be able to disconnect you from internet nor slow your internet speed. There should be media streaming site that work on that idea. That idea will be called "paupav is the greatest".

So what do you think. Is there any bug in my idea?

What stops the ISp's from downloading said files and opening them themselves?
How would they key be shared without revealing ones identity?
How would you know you're not sharing the key with an ISP employee?

-They are password protected
-Just make some long topic on forum (forum connected that site) about password for every file and they will not take so much effort if there would be billion files on that site - password wouldn't be shared directly, but trough survey.
-They wouldn't take so much effort in searching for key

This is somewhat true...Comcast (a very large ISP) has been accused of throttling customers speeds so that they don't have to use so much.

You can read all about it HERE .

HugheNet (which is a Satelite internet provider in the US) also has something called the Fair Access Policy (FAP) in which if you go over X of usage or downloads then they throttle your speeds to below standards (which is normally below dialup speeds) for 24 solid hours in order for everyone to have a chance to use the internet.

Id rather take my chances torrenting then go through all that fucking bullshit. and if torrent ever fails theres always usenet and ddl

like do you even know how torrenting works, theres a reason private trackers are more secure. your ideas benefits aren't good enough to change the odds of risk in other methods

They don't have to see the files to know they want to throttle it.
They can simply throttle your connection if you download from a certain site, which is what they're doing.

I can feel you there. I had HughesNET for about 2 years and it was crappy as hell. Thankfully I have wi-fi through a new company that is running pretty sweet.
