|
|
I've noticed that sometimes my .ct files will grow in file size (up to 2mb) with just a few (2-6) cheats in em (when saving the file periodically over time). I took the liberty of opening one of the larger ones up in notepad, and discovered what looks to be a complete data structure being stored in it. It seems that if you add things, save the file, then remove things and save that the file will grow sometimes in combination with the Dissect Data Structure tool.
To reduce the file size I have to copy my cheats into a new cheat engine and save, thus making a tiny (2-3 kb) file once again.
An example of a larger file would be this: http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=559739 which is almost 1mb for just a few cheats within. If you check within that file you will see an entire "unnamed structure" that was built using the Dissect Data Structure tool while creating some of those cheats. It seems that this should not automatically save to the .cht, but prompt to be saved in a separate file (if you should want to save it that is) to keep the .ct file small for distribution.
Is this suppose to be saving along with the .cht file? Is this a bug? Any help is appreciated.

no, a .ct is a collection of all the data you have gathered, this includes the format of structures.
Anyhow, if you don't want to share those structures with other people, go to tools->structure dissect->file->delete all structures
Also, whenever you create a structure that you do not wish to save, go to structure options and tick the option to not save it

Thanks for clearing that up. I never realized there were settings that would prevent saving within the Dissect Structure tool. Thanks for bringing them to my attention. Keep up the great work, very fine tool you have created here.
