|
|
M. C. ESCHER: THE GAME is a first person psychedelic adventure and puzzle game inspired by the works of M. C. Escher. It stars an unnamed hero who has woken up in the illogical world of M. C. Escher. Slated for a Q2, M. C. ESCHER is guaranteed to challenge what you previously thought was impossible in a video game.
M. C. ESCHER: THE GAME features intuitive level designs inspired by over 20 of Escher’s most famous and memorable prints and sketches, including “Magic Mirror”, “House of Stairs”, “Convex and Concave”, “Waterfall”, and of course the dark and haunting “Another World”. The game’s beautiful cel-shaded graphics will make you feel as though you are inside Escher’s prints. Each stage will have a huge amount of depth, and discovering all of the secrets in each level will take more problem solving skill than you think. This game will not hold your hand, and you will have to figure out the objectives of each level yourself, solving difficult special and visual puzzles along the way.
M. C. ESCHER: THE GAME revolves around a mind bending hub world set in the lithograph “Relativity”. A nod to the classic Mario 64, here the player will enter each work by navigating through the gravity twisting world. Players will have to revisit all stages in order to unlock all of Relativity’s secrets and eventually unlock the final stage, “Another World,” and return to reality. The key word here is variety. There are no two stages that are alike, and the smallest physical stages can have the most depth of all. Some stages will have a traditional first person perspective where the player will explore the landscape on foot, in others there will be no gravity at all and the player will have full control over the spatial and rotational location of their character. Other stages such as “Cube with Magical Ribbons” will be 3 dimensional puzzles that the player is required to rotate, zoom in on, and manipulate in order to progress. In all stages the player will be faced with difficult obstacles that require more to overcome than meets the eye.
M. C. ESCHER: THE GAME offers an unforgettable adventure through Escher’s incredible universe. It will challenge the mind in ways that no other game has yet.
We look forward to bringing you more news as M. C. ESCHER: THE GAME nears its Q2 2013 release date.
Except that it isn’t real and it never will be.
