he was never bad, he was just outclassed heavily by graves/corki/ez
but now that they're being nerfed into the ground, he's probably a lot more viable now. sort of like MF/ashe/draven

He's good in poke comps, but anything can be good in the context of a specific team comp. If we're talking about soloqueue, right now the only good soloqueue ADCs are ones with escapes. Varus has no escapes. Ashe can get by because she has perma slow which allows her to kite really well, but ultimately she's not very good right now for soloqueue either. At least, your positioning has to be excellent. With Varus, your positioning could be top notch and you still won't be able to stop champions like irelia, malphite, and olaf from getting right on your dock and shitting on your face.
