I agree that 'The Avengers' is not even close to a movie like 'The Dark Knight' for example, which got an 8.9. But considering 'John Carter' hits the 6.8, I feel 'The Avengers' got a proper rating in comparison to a shit movie like that. And considering legendary-grade movies are still above 'The Avengers', which was good in my opinion, I've made my peace.

10 or 20 years from now people will not be watching movies from our time and saying they're good, all ratings on new movies I just assume that they're rated for the year, sure the avengers can get a 8.6 compared to all other movies this year, but in a couple years when a better movie comes out and is rated the same, it'll just make that rating invalid
