I'm a bit confused on how to go about finding the address to a function and nopping it . I have the address to a instruction within the function, but nopping it causes the game to crash.

Post more details please about the code if you wish some one can help you. The game crashes because you NOP the wrong code, or an important adres which is being used by other functions. I think you can solve this with a Code Injection.

Please post more details I would like to help you out with this one.

Could be multiple things.
You're best posting the name of this game. You'l probably get a more detailed answer.
