We were asked by our school to participate in the "It's more fun in the Philippines" campaign and while doing some research, I discovered that a lot of people actually hate the Philippines and Filipinos.

You can't just hate an entire country just because a Filipino did something bad to you or you had an awful vacation.

I want to know your opinions regarding this topic. Just be honest, I won't hate you just because you hate the Philippines. I just want to know why.

dark bytes right. i thought only the filipinos in my class did that! they used to talk in their own language so much.

I can't really say since where I live we don't have many Filipinos, but we do have similar dealings

Also, I don't think people 'hate' the philippines as a country, but more dislike a part of the population that comes from there

As for the reason I can only guess, the most common reason is because they group together and don't speak the native language of the country they are in
The worst thing for the image of them/their country is if they look at a inhabitant of the country they are in, then speak in their own language, followed by laughing. That really makes people dislike/distrust them. (It's like they're invading the country and planning a takeover)

Another reason is probably bad experiences themselves and from friends and family around them. E.g Murders, rape, theft, threats, hurting children, etc...

Not sure, but girls I know dig Filipinos- at least American-Filipinos

my view of the Filipino people is quite positive... For the most part, Filipinos are a very nice and kind type of people - that is - according to my observations...
