I sent a forged FBI email to a friend saying "you have been reported for downloading illegal music files," but now he says he is going to report it to the police.

Can I actually get trialed??! I don't think he's joking either.

Yes you can be trailed, but the likeliness that they will give enough of a fuck over a spoofed email is seriously low.
They have actual criminals to catch, and taxdollars only go so far.
