That doesn't really make any sense. The drug is what fucks you up. It's cheap heroin that fucks you up because it rots your flesh on top of the normal stuff. Saying "it's just an opiate" is a bit dumb.

Theoretically if a seasoned chemist produced desomorphine with a barebones set-up it would still be krokodil just because he didn't use lab equipment, much in the way methamphetamine cooked in a garage is "Crank" and "Ice" and "Tina" instead of Desoxyn; the prescribed version
And in this case-specific matter; Scopolamine kicks the shit out of Krokodil any day no matter how it's produced. Datura in general (the most common source of scopolamine) is a drug that works via poison, it is intoxication in the truest sense.
