My second attempt at a signature in PS. I am even less confident of this one than I was my first even though my first one was a lot worse. I kind of cringed when I typed the 'xD' part, by the way.

do all of these
http://www.sigtutorials.com/tutorials
once you finish doing all of them you'll know enough effects yourself but by the time you finish you wont be able to replicate the tutorial exactly and you'll get your own style.
start with this one http://www.sigtutorials.com/tutorials/basics/basic-grunge.html
and to judge yours: its really basic, you took a background and smudged it or ripple effect which just looks bad completely by itself.
the background colors and the character don't match, you want the character to somewhat blend in or at least look natural with the background
right now, don't worry about text, until you read a good tutorial on it, its best to not do it at all, no one will want to steal your beginner stuff and most sigs look better without text anyways.

That is almost exactly what I did. Thanks, I'll put these to good use. I will replace this embarrassing one for now.

| its really basic and helpful but remember, doing things that are creative like this, you don't want to follow a tutorial every time, or do the same pattern over and over, once you get used to using photoshop try your own things, even if they look bad you don't have to show them to everyone you can just do it for practice
