Hello everybody, I just started recently getting in to using cheat engine, it is great and I learn many things. To start things off, what is a good place to learn about hacking games. It could be MMOs, website games or flash games.

Of course finding values in offline games are quite easy, I'm thinking of taking it to online where things get a bit more difficult. let say like facebook flash games. It be nice to learn from those while still having a bit of fun.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

read at least the first 4 chapters.
after you're done reading first 4 chapters

Wow, did like to read the book, but I don't think I have time for all that, as it saids I have have to learn assembly language, I barely know java language, so it might take a bit of time to understand.

Aside from a book, I google some hackable MMOs was able to get pass the gameguard and edit the memory of the game, but sadly most MMO information are stored in servers.

I thought that hacking facebook games would be fun and easy, I don't really have to be an expert, just want to know how.

I'll look in to the book anyway, but I have doubts I will finish it.

Well, it's sort of difficult(99.9% of the time impossible) to hack online games, like games on facebook, because the values are stored on the server.
Take minecraft servers for an example.
You can find your health and change it, but your health will go back to what it really was because the client takes the server's copy of the health and puts it there.

noob question here, would assembly language help hacking servers? I think this is probably the only gun I'm looking for atm.

yes, knowing assembly language can help hacking servers (buffer overflows)
and yes, you can go to jail if you do that

aww gees, hacking games is harder than i expected, might not even be able to do it alone, if doing it wrong might just screw my life over.

gees I better stick to hacking offline games, thanks for your help everyone!
