I add my parents on my family facebook account.
I add my friends on my social facebook account.
I add my e-friends to my e-friend account.

I prefer to keep the profiles separate, I know that is a bit weird, but if you were to meet my family you wouldn't think so.

all you really have to do is add them and change the content filtering of your posts/photos/etc so that they can't see all of the naughty, depraved things their son/daughter thinks about on the weekends.
