I've found the address for points, but when alt+tab out and 'find out what accesses this address' and went back in-game it crashes. Why does this happen?

the reason is that u are altering the game data thats y the game crashes
you can try this (works fine on my PC)
open game and then hawx start any mission then kill one unit u will se xp in your screen it may range from 10 -100 depending upon the dificulty and target .now go to cheat engine search the xp u saw then again go to the game and shoot another target u will again see xp THIS TIME GO TO SHEAT ENGINE AND THEN SEARCH THE SUM OF XP (XP FIRST +XP NEW) u will get few results alter them and put a huge value then quit .this will geive u the rank of general of the air force and all planes and missels will b unlocked.

Thanks but that's not what I mean. And the game is Splinter Cell Conviction not Hawx. If you still know the answer. The game crashes when I press find out what accesses this address. Please someone help.

change debugger.
use veh or kernelmode.
edit -> settings -> debugger options.
kernelmode should work just fine.

Edit:

When I tick use kernelmode. I press find out what access this address it say I must reboot my computer. I'm using win7. Do you know why?

do not rebot ... maybe it's from another program ... just rebot cheat engine and the game.
i mean:
colse everything.
strart ce
start game
open process
...

but it seems you have a driver problem.
does the message come from cheat engine ?

i'm a x86 user. i have never tried x64
in x86 changing the debugger helped me, and a had no trouble about any drivers at all

i have the same question also,(win 7 x64)

and i reboot my computer,"allow unsigned drivers", and use kernel debugger, it turned bluescreen when i try to use "find out what access this address"

You have to do what the message tells you to, also get the driver.

If it is too much trouble, just switch to the 32bit version of windows. The CE kernel32 debugger works fine on 32bit win 7.

To OP: this is because the game is probably protected. Try find out what writes...to be sure. If it crashes on that too then there is some debug protection in there.
