Circuit Diagram
A diagram that depicts a circuit, using symbols for electronic components. Used to design and communicate circuits with other people, like a blueprint or a plan.
Electric Current
Electric current means, depending on the context, a flow of electric charge (a phenomenon) or the rate of flow of electric charge (a quantity).
Ground Wire
In electrical engineering, ground or earth may be the reference point in an electrical circuit from which other voltages are measured, or a common return path for electric current, or a direct physical connection to the Earth.
Neutral Wire
A conductor that is intended to have a ground(ing) potential.
Series Circuit
This is when components in a circuit are arranged one after the other in the same circuit.
Conductor
A substance, usually metal, used to transfer electrical energy from point to point.
Hot Wire
The wire that carries electrical energy to a receptacle or other device—in contrast to a neutral, which carries electricity away again. Normally the black wire.
Electrical Load
If an electric circuit has a well-defined output terminal, the circuit connected to this terminal (or its input impedance) is the load. (The term 'load' may also refer to the power consumed by a circuit; that topic is not discussed here.)
Voltmeter
Device for measuring electrical voltage. Usually part of a multimeter.
Parallel Circuit
Components of an electrical circuit or electronic circuit can be connected in many different ways. The two simplest of these are called series and parallel and occur very frequently. _________________
