|
|
Hey guise~
I'm just playing to play a game I recently purchased called Skydrift. The game runs fine when I'm on the menus and such, but as soon as I go to the actual gameplay it runs fine for about 10seconds to One minute (no lag) then FPS drops to less than 1 FPS more like 1 frame per 10 seconds.
I've also been playing Warcraft 3, it doesn't seem to happen on that game, although I haven't been testing it with other games. I played stalker with the complete addon and whilst my graphics card was running loudly, it didn't lag like this at all.
EDIT:
Build:
Intel E8400 3.0ghz DUO
4 gigs of ram
GTX 260
I know some of you might recommend me to get a new card due to this current one being old, I really don't have the funds at the moment so thanks for the help, but I honestly doubt it's my card seeing as like I said, in other games it runs fine.

My first guess would be a background process firing up & stealing all your performance. Try alt-tabbing & check what processes are running & how much they require from your CPU & memory.

The age of this game and requirements tells me its in no way your hardware. Are your drivers up to date?

if you have a second gpu, even one of similar performance or a bit lower, i'd try it.
like with the game RAGE, it could be a software issue in which the game is developed in a shitty way and doesn't run properly on specific hardware.

Yep, I updated everything after this first happened, in relation to my graphics driver, I updated to I think it was 290.53 which was a beta version.

I've also done this, I thought it might be my CPU seeing as it was running @ 100% but as far as RAM goes, it only takes up about 300-500megs of RAM. Also I tried running it without anything in the background.
Could it possibly be my AV for some reason?
