VB is the main choice as that is what they teach in the lessons and it's easy to design the look and incorporate SQL.
C++ is my other choice. I have been teaching myself for the past few months on and off and the teachers know c++ so I can get help there.
Is there anything like Microsoft Visual Basic but for C++. You know, where you make forms with the buttons and code using that.
BTW, the project is to create a system for a school points reward scheme. Grant points for good behavior, deduct for bad behavior and the student can redeem them for stuffs. That sort of thing.

Too be quite honest I only took computing as a filler subject so I could finish physics and take maths. So I'm not too worried about the grade.

EDIT - One more question - is SLQ usage basically the same in c++ and VB?

If you don't want to completely ruin your brain, then go for anything else that isn't VB. C# was made from Java and C++ but it's very similar to VB in the sense that you can drag+drop forms and shit. Although, you can do that with C++ now too in the latest Visual Studio 2010, albeit a little bit different than normal C++.

I'll look to do it in C++. Seems more useful in general plus I'm sure I', further ahead with that than VB. I'll have a talk with my teachers when I go back. I'm not the first student to do it in C++ so they should have some good advice for me.
