Today, I was talking about time with my brother and we ended up at the Big Bang and what would be "before" the Big Bang.

He's of the opinion, like many, that before the Big Bang, there was a contracting universe, which at one point was also expanding, like ours. The limitless loop, so to speak, with an unknown beginning.

I share a similar mind-set, except I don't see it as before the Big Bang. I postulate that the Big Bang itself was the force that set the movement, through whatever dimension time is, that we currently experience. Meaning there is no "before", the Big Bang is the start of that movement.
That would also end the question of "Yeah, but what happened BEFORE that?", there is no before, just a first. No before, just "is" and "is not".


There is no way of empirically testing, or even deducing this from data in a sensible matter, buuuut it's as good as anything else.
Perhaps I could calculate an approximation of energy needed to create a movement that fast seen from our 3D standpoint and the energy available at that point in time, but even that would have major flaws and holes.


So what's your opinion on the matter?
