Quite alot, because of people who believe. |

But its not peoples beliefs that Im asking about, I mean if a god were to actually exist, how would it affect me if it was silent, or did not exist. I find people will believe either way, and while yes, you are correct, they affect me, it is their faith, not the act of god, that affects me. _________________

They're saying that belief in a god affects many of your actions. Religious still act accordingly to what they believe is best in the eyes of their silent gods.
The difference isn't in the type of god in actuality, silent vs nonexistent, but rather your beliefs concerning what the type of god actually is. The actions of an atheist will be based differently and carried out differently than a devout catholic regardless of whether or not there is a god. |

I guess to a degree, Im willing to accept this answer. In the end, it doesnt matter whether something exists, only that humans believe it does. _________________

@Stylised, that wouldn't matter, because people would believe in him regardless of his existence. _________________

elpacco is right.
some people just want to believe in something, it doesn't matter if he exists or not, just the tought of him being real is enough for the believers :>

Not sure what you're implying there. What I mean is: he's asking if there is a difference between a god that does not exist, or a god that stays silent. My comment was made because, due to the fact that the states that the entity 'god' is in can't be observed, we should assume he is in both states and it is therefore the same thing. |
