I've got the cpu mentioned above and was curious if OCing it was worth my time for games such as World of Warcraft, Star Craft, and other graphic heavy games. I have a Foxconn Motherboard with an AMD chipset. Just wondering what everyone thought about the idea, thanks.

3.1GHz stock? You won't really notice much of a difference from overclocking it in those games.. maybe if you're running multi-clients of them you will.

Have you overclocked before? I'd suggest overclocking some if you haven't before just for the experience. A newegg review says they have theirs running stable at 3.44, so try to get it at 3.2-3.3 without issues if you want the experience.

Nope it isn't. The only way to see a real gain is to buy a phenom II x4 of the same speed. I did that and now my games soar. Athlon II x4 isn't the best gaming core at all in my experience.

If you are only looking into gaming, start with a GPU upgrade first. Video games usually eat more GPU power than CPU.
