it's not laggy at all for me unless the server host is lagging

if anything, 1.8 seems more optimized

I'm actually noticing a bit of lag in single player but it is a Java based game with millions of lines of code. So what should we expect?

Probably just the pirated versions that are derpy. Or that pre-release thingo.
