Long story short, tomorrow I have an interview up the college about which classes I'm going to take (3rd year). I was thinking about computing but they only teach you Visual Basic. This is if double maths doesn't have any room.

Not really. I believe a lot of the same logic is used.

Only if you become fluent in VB first. VB is really only for conceptual purposes.

VB is pretty popular with businesses. Would be smart to take the class.
Learning any 2 (or more) languages can cause problems, such as mixing syntax. But you'll get over that.

There's a class like this locally. They teach you the basics of VB and not much else. I don't think it would be important or helpful at all because it's dumbed down to the level of teaching you simple prog logic and mid-school(american, that's before high school) math.
It's basically a way for our good for nothing techs to say they know how to program.
Note: this is if the class is called something similar to "Computing" and not Computer Science. The one locally is also largely made up of computer literacy lessons with VB thrown in as a "plus."
I know this because I was trying to take an actual C++ year long course on our states online school through my school. They wouldn't let because they're biased against me and instead tried to send me to a "Computing" class because they think I can't look up a course description online.
