Before I updated to the new 6.0, I think I had 5.7 or something before, I could not only freeze a value, (such as the Credits, Metal, Crystal in Sins of a Solar Empire) but I could set it up to allow the value to only be allowed to increase, or only be allowed to decrease. (never found a need fo the second one) Since switching over to 6.0 I have found that I can now only freeze the value, or manually edit the value. I do understand that clicking on the space near the check box adds the arrow, going either up or down, which signifies it should allow the value to increase or decrease repectively. However, while freezing still works, as does manually changing the values, if I have either the increase only or decrease only options on, no only do they not work but it will no longer even freeze the values anymore until I shut off the cheat entirely and then turn it back on. I do understand that I can add a hotkey setting so I only need to freeze the values when I want to, and then unfreeze to allow them to continue to build up, but it was far simpler to just set it to increase only and never have to worry about it again. Any ideas on how to fix this or would I be better off just going back to an older version?
Edit- Before anyone asks, I play Sins offline when I use cheat engine, for when I want to try something new, screw around, or just a relaxing comp stomp.

This option is still implemented in CE 6.0 too, just a "little" not so obvious.
If you click next to the checkbox, an arrow will appear where you can set that the value is allowed to increase or allowed to decrease only. You can also set a hotkey to this function. I have attached a picture where you can see the arrow next to the checkbox. By default it is not there, you have to click on that place.
It is odd for sure, but it is working (for me at least).

No offence, but if you had read all of my post you would have seen that I am aware of the arrows and what they are supposed to do. And I have tried using them for their supposed function. Copied from my post above
"I do understand that clicking on the space near the check box adds the arrow, going either up or down, which signifies it should allow the value to increase or decrease repectively."
When I do activate the up arrow for Increase Only, it STOPS freezing the value entirely. And just to check if either was working, I tried Decrease Only, and my credits still continued to go up.
I just realized that I recently updated Sins, so I went and tried it out on Torchlight which I had not updated and have used the old CE one before. And as with Sins I could freeze my MP, even in the middle, but trying to use either Increase Only or Decrease Only and it stops working again. This confirms that the error is not due to recently updating Sins, but rather something failing within CE.

Well as I also said, it is working for me. It stopped the value from decreasing. I am using the 32-bit version with Win XP. No clue what happens in the 64-bit version.

Tried reinstalling CE to see if it would work then, and as before Increase Only and Decrease Only fail to work while simple freezing does. I assume I have the 32-bit version as I am running Win7 32-bit. I dont think a 64-bit version of CE would be working on this (nor could I find an option to DL any other version save the current and the two older version).

The CE loader is automatically launching the 32-bit version or 32-bit OS and the 64-bit version on 64-bit OS. There is only one installer and that includes both versions. If you use 32-bit OS, you surely use the 32-bit version.
Maybe you could try to assign a hotkey for "Toggle freeze and allow increasing". No idea if it could help. Sometimes using a hotkey instead of clicking on something can result in success.

I tried using the keyboard shortcut to set Increase Only (NumPad +) and Decrease Only (NumPad -) and to no sucess. As for something special abou the values, I couldnt find anything special. In both games, Torchlight and Sins of a Solar Empire- Diplomacy, the values are Float type, displayed as rounded Integers. The game engine for both calculates the decimal places, and then rounds the value off and displays that result. (HP/MP in Torchlight and Credit/Metal/Crystal in Sins) I havent yet tested if it will work on a 4bit or 8bit int yet, but I do remember using CE 5.6 with both of these games before and never having this issue. In Sins its not too much of an issue because I could just set the values to something high enough to cover anything I need and then freeze it, but with Torchlight I wanted to allow HP and MP to increase when I lvl up. Especially HP because I could end up getting killed by an attack that can OHKO me if I just freeze the value at my starting HP.

Sorry to bring up this thread again but I am having the same problem with freezing values. The only difference is I am using CE 6.1. Even when make a trainer and set it to increase the value. If I only freeze the value, it freezes fine. In my case the values are also floats that are rounded off. dunno if that has anything to do with it.
The only thing I can think of is I have different versions of CE installed on the same computer in different locations though. Dunno If that is causing the issue.
Thanks

Are you sure you got the right pointer/address?
If not:
Delete all versions of Cheat Engine you have installed.
Download the newest version from www.cheatengine.org and install it.
