Ok this is what you do download Cheat engine 5.4 and start it up choose internet or firefox or whatever you use and go to Bowmaster prelude now start a game and hit a couple of enemies you should have like 10 gold or 20 now times how much gold you have by 8 and scan you should have a lot of addresses so now hit a couple more and times that number by 8 and scan that you should have 1 or 2 addresses now change them to whatever you want ex. 40000 you then freeze and voila you have just did the money cheat. _________________

| Hey, I know this game is old, and so is this thread, but how would I know when to multiply the value by 8 or add 6 or subtract 4 or to search for the value in hex so that I can find the foremost address, and find the necessary pointers if necessary afterwards? |

you use unknown initial value scan and then changed/unchaged to find it (increased.decreased might work in this case as well)
Anyhow, if you make use of the flash *8 value type posted in the flash section you don't have to think about that +6 -4 stuff _________________

Okay, thanks. So *8 is the norm for flash games?
There was this one game (Frantic Frigates; on Kongregate) which I couldn't find the money for but now I know how, so thank you. |

No, *8 is only for OOOOLD flash games
For new flash games you just use 4 byte or double with no bitshift _________________

Bowmaster Prelude. One of my favorite flash games.
Anyway, fun fact:
Games are not using one value type only.
Maybe some values are stored as integer and maybe you have to multiply by 8, and some other values maybe stored as a simple float. When you search for something, always try all value types, even if you think that all values are integer or all values are float. _________________

So now, when I want to hack a game, I'm going to spend 5 more minutes trying to hack it. After all, before I just gave up.
Also, how do I know when to search in 4 byte or 2 byte or 8 byte?
Please link me to a new thread if the explanation has already been given. |
