It's how they're brought up. They go to churches where they're preached lies and religious schools where they're taught lies. Once they're grown, that's all they can understand and the only thing that gives them solace. Since they turn to their lies and invisible God or Gods for help in their life, when anything happens by chance it's considered a 'miracle.' This renews faith in the lies they were preached and taught, so they pass it on to their children.

I'll never forget when we were reading the Crucible, they're talking about witches, and a student asks "How did they believe in witches and demons back then?" Before the teacher answered, I turned around and asked "Why do you believe in a bearded man in the sky who grants wishes?"(they're christians and catholics)

No answer could be given. They are so used to being preached it from birth that they just accept it. It makes a mental block that they will mostly never get around.

European religion / Muslim = Power/Money.

Rest of them are mostly the convenience of not constantly having to think about what created us all and why are we here, something to believe in, something to be apart of. That's another thing, the social aspect of religion is the main thing that draws people to it, and they get teh moneyz of da socialismz brah. Although i still can't believe how people can think of the 7 day crap when the Earth has proven to be billions of years old. Makes meh sad

It's a combination of brainwashing and the gullibility gene

People without the gullibility gene are less likely to believe the fairytales and that angers those that do. Usually ending up in preventing that person from reproducing. (either shunned , outcast, or dead)

Now go with this for several decades and you'll have full countries with the majority of people with the gullibility gene.

Problem is that that gene also lowers a person's iq
