if i were to try googling this, i come up with shit
anyways, i did a fresh isntall of w7 on a lappy, and whenever i try to click on a link for say, an image (.png, .jpg, etc) with downloads instead of opening the image in a webpage. of all the formats ive ever done, it has never done that, so i ask, watdo

So when you try to view images through a hotlink in your browser, it downloads the image instead of viewing it within the browser?

yes, or when i paste link it. ive never had it happen in all the installs of windows ive done, incredibly inconvenient, so asking how to have it.... view

lol, what can you really google? how to download? nope | I tried stuff like "links open downloads box" "pictures always open dialog box" etc
try messing around in firefox
tools> options> applications tab

This isn't a Windows problem, but a browser problem.
Windows doesn't choose which to download and which to load.
