|
|
I am ordering a laptop very soon
and im wondering if Intel Core i5 is really that different in performance from Intel Core i7, i know i7 is 4 cores
Mainly comparing
2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5-2410M Processor ( 2.30GHz 1333MHz 3MB )
and
2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM Processor ( 2.00GHz 1333MHz 6MB )
Is there really a huge difference between these two processors?
if anyone could let me know asap that would be great, dont know how long the sale is

Not every mobile Core i7 are quad cores, some are dual cores, so you have to pay close attention to details.
For notebooks, since there is no way or extremely difficult for you to perform future CPU upgrades, get the Core i7.

If you want a Lenovo IdeaPad, and price isn't an issue, then go for the second one.

I wouldn't recommend an i5 at all unless you're on a budget, i7 all the way.

4 physical cores, and 4 virtual from hyperthreading. Either way, you should get the i7 because the i5 wouldn't be able to HT.

Because everyone renders video or forces their computer to do large tasks.

Gj, I'd do the same if I had the dough.

Because the "big tasks" of today become the background noise of tomorrow; better to invest in a processor that's overkill now and capable tomorrow than have to get a new processor or even whole rig.

What's tomorrow? If it's 2-4 years I'd want a new machine anyway.
