Hello all, I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop's video card to something that will help me increase the picture quality of WoW. However, I'm not sure what I need to know about my computer before I buy a new card.

Post your laptop model.
90% of the time you cannot change a laptop gfx card and you are fucked, so buy a desktop.

Could you please post the specs of your laptop, the brand and model.
However it is unlikely you will be able to upgrade the graphics card in your laptop. Most laptops have very limited additional space, cooling and power, so if you are looking at something a fair leap ahead, chances are it just won't work.

Laptop graphics are not upgradeable and even if they can, it's a pain in the ass, because it's difficult to find it.
Them Asus white books are those DIY laptops where you can install your own type of CPU, ram, and video card. The card it uses are MXM and there are 3 types. Each type is not compatible with each other or like type 3 will work with type 1 and 2, but type 2 will only work with that and not 1 and 3 and some other bullshit.
Was about to get that laptop, tired to find a MXM graphic card, turns out to be non-existent. Then managed to find it from some site which look like a scam and site is so poorly designed, it looks like the dude is operating it from his mom's basement.
You can take a look at Vi-dock

I agree with this so much... not only with regards to laptops, but gaming consoles too. Sad to see PC gaming decline, desktop gaming is so much fun.
