I am trying to import video from my Mini DV Camcorder
I am using the windows import utility but I want to import 1 hour and 20 mins worth of video

Right now it has imported 10minutes of video or so and its already taken up 1GB of space!?!

Is this normal?
Is there something else I can use to import my video but wont affect the quality that much?

No, what quality and file type are you saving it to your pc as?

It doesnt seem to let me change any of those options
but it saved it as a .avi file

Most likely the cam saved the file as an avi in the first place. If you can connect your cam and access the video through the device as a removable drive I suggest you use a 3rd party tool to edit the video in place and only copy what you want and of the type you want.

4easysoft converter should do trick.
