I cheat because I'm stuck at a certain point, or the game gets a little too dull.
But mostly, after I've beaten the game, and it was worth enough for a 2nd play-thru, I cheat to find all possibilities, and make an OP character(RPG games) and just downright own
Last but not least, I cheat when I find a game is shit sucky, worst game ever and the only thing I wanna do is see the end, so I just skip through the crap, and satisfy my curiosity

Mainly this, I play good games without cheats too. Games are for fun. If it is not fun without cheats, then I start CE, make some cheats for it, finish it and probably delete it after that.
The other reason is that if you learn to make cool cheats, you can make a game even more entertaining and do weird things that you could never do without them (like flying, have very high speed in a racing game etc). These things are not even cheats, it is more like adding weird features to the game.
Some people say "where is the challenge" and "why do you cheat in the game, play as it was intended". The answer is easy. Most games sucks if you play it as it was intended. If I wouldn't have cheats for them, I wouldn't play more than 2-3 games in a year. Besides, you could never see me sitting before the computer and swearing, screaming to the monitor in the highest possible level of stress because I have died like 454782 times on a level. I am relaxed and completely free of stress while I mow down hordes of enemies with unlimited health and ammo in an FPS or build an army that is limited only by my computer specs and not by the game's limits in RTS games etc. As long as you do it in single player, no one is hurt. But I hate multiplayer cheaters.

I'm not dead set against mp cheats, or hacks. I think they have their place. In the old days you used to see dedicated Cheat Only servers. If you entered there without a cheat you had nothing to complain about. Those used to be more like "my cheat is better than you cheat" it was more about who could make a better cheat or hack for the game than the actual gameplay. Cheating in a non-cheat server is a no no.

Yeah, that is another matter. If everyone is cheating, then it counts to be a fair play.

| Along with playing the games legit, I sometimes like to make super human god characters in games like Titan Quest and Diablo II, just for kicks. I never use cheats on multiplayer games, though, that's lame.

I agree, because it turns the game less fun, and destroys your will to play the game over and over again.

And yeah with RPGS it's WAY to time consuming to replay them legit again, especially with the way games are being mass produced now, and considering school and work time, by the time you finish an RPG legitimately in a month or two, new games are out

I cheat because I get sick of vsing people of my skill level, I use cheats and then 1v1 the pros, then they can't believe they lost to me

some people say that cheating takes the fun out of the game, but it really depends on the cheat you are using, right? since some cheats actually make the game more fun
i use cheats on most rpg games since i do not want spending hours just to level up my characters. i use cheats such as infinite hp, all skills, all items and some other cheats to progress through the story

the only cheat I'll ever cheat is to select only one strongest weapon out of that game. And thats it. The rest; it's gonna be by luck such as money, hp, mp, etc... cheating too much; does make the game bored.
