|
Usually I have no problem finding the "Z" axis other wise known as your altitude, but this one game is giving me problems.
I do what I usually do to find the Z axis. I search for unknown value. Then narrow it down with increasing, decreasing, or unchanged values by walking up and down stairs, or staying still. The problem is with this game when I do this I do narrow it down to a few possible memory address, however when I try to freeze those address, or change them in any way it simply doesn't work. If the address is frozen and I attempt to walk down stairs, I should end up hovering over the stairwell at the same altitude as the step I froze the memory value at, or if I just increase the value of these address I should end up flying and crashing to the ground or just hovering. Instead nothing happens. I still walk normally and change altitude normally when I attempt to freeze or change these values.
Can anyone clue me in on what to do differently? I'm fairly certain I have the right memory addresses.
I believe I can fly...

DirectX vs OpenGl, the Z axis may be swapped with Y.
It's also possible that there is a server side check.

Any way around a server side check of the z axis? Somehow I doubt they're able to check every single player location in the game with a server side check but I could be wrong. Seems like it would be horribly taxing on the server bandwidth.
The game uses DirectX. What do you mean swapped with Y? I don't see how that would matter with the way I find the value of my altitudes memory address.
