So, I followed the tutorial steps (up to code injection) to get a pointer for player HP. So I tried doing this in game, and I managed to get like 6 (more if I kept going) pointers that tracked my current HP. Followed the steps completely as in the tutorial and everything is dandy. But .. when I restart the client ... they don't pick anything up. What am I missing here ..? I thought that was the whole point of finding the specific pointer address/offset :\
Any help would be appreciated, and I can include any information needed..
(Here's an unhelpful pic of CE .. after I restarted the game)

So you followed it till you got a green address ?
Anyhow, try the pointerscanner if all else fails

Thanks for the reply Dark,
Here is my step by step process...
(But to answer your question, I never saw anything green o_O?)
Please look at my pastebin link here: pastebin[dot]com/QaaTZ6r3
because I post URLs in this post and I dont want you to have to manually type in all of the images...

Alright, step 1...
Find the address(es) of your exact HP value:
IMAGE ONE...FOUND IN PASTEBIN
Step 2...
Find out what accesses the address and find it's value and the offset:
IMAGE TWO...FOUND IN PASTEBIN
So for this I have 06F30B80, with offset 2F4
(Repeat for all 4 of the addresses found)
Step 3...
Make a 4byte hex search for the address(es) I just found:
(In this case, 06F30B80)
IMAGE FOUR...FOUND IN PASTEBIN
And take those newfound addresses and add them as pointers with the previous offset (in this case, 2F4):
IMAGE FIVE...FOUND IN PASTEBIN
Repeat until you find one that syncs with your HP ... (in this case, no luck, so I try the next address from the previous s/s)
IMAGE SIX...FOUND IN PASTEBIN
^-- As you can see, hp1 tweaks out (it actually follows my HP for most of the time, but I took the screenshot right as I cast a spell and it freaked) but hp2 and hp3 work just fine ... and I can get a shit-load of these if I go through and do alll the addresses and alll the values I previously mentioned.

So I guess I just don't know what I am missing?
Why are there so many that lead me to my HP?
Also, once I restart the client ... they don't match up anymore.
So, any help would be appreciated because I got this far following the same technique in the tutorial (steps 1-6) and now I'm stumped
Thanks,
-Jigg

step1:
There is only one address that is valid an all others are just shadow values
Change one value, change it in the game and see if it had an effect, repeat this a few times until you find the address that's actually correct
this can make all the following steps be for nothing if you've just been looking how the shadow value get's the value
I'll assume that you 'accidentally' picked the right one and that 06f30b80+2f4=06F30E74 was the correct address
step2: ok (remember offset 2f4)
step3:
In this case I would not go with the 0x00189530 but take one lower. Below 00400000 usually means it's the game's scracthpad meaning it gets overwritten with completly different data frequenty
as for filling that in with a pointer is not yet needed yet as it's not a green address, so useless
step 4 would be adding 06f30910 and then finding what accesses that address
And then do a hex search for that base ,and remember the offset, and repeat that until you find a green address or not.
What might help:
Do step 8 in the tutorial
and again, if all else fails, pointerscan:
At step 2 assuming you have the correct address rightclick the address and choose pointerscan for this address
The default settings should be good enough so press ok and it'll start scanning (can take a while depending on how many cpu cores you have and how fast your harddisk is)
