"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." -- Martin Luther King, Jr
This quote has been circulating around the internet for the last couple of days, and some of you may have seen it posted, but he never said the first sentence. The first quote was from a speech in 1957:
"Why should we love our enemies? The first reason is fairly obvious. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multi# plies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction."
So, yeah, I am just sharing this because I thought it was interesting how quickly misinformation can be spread. Discuss. _________________
One could also argue that if a mosquito bites you, you should move. No you swat and kill it. Not really comparing Osama to a mosquito, he is just the face of the Al Qaeda. _________________
