| I'm kind of split here. I know that Princeton has a better academic program, but RIT seems to be specialized toward what I would like to do. I ask because I received a letter from Princeton admissions today so now I'm looking through reviews and such. Thoughts?

| for someone of alleged genius iq you really don't act anything close to that. are you so socially retarded that you think people can't see through this blatant attempt at 'showing off' or are you really so stupid that you'll take advice from online people on something that will affect you for 4+ years ? thoughts ?

Actually I was hoping YOU would comment with an answer. I really thought maybe you would have some kind of clue, seeing as you hang out in the programming area.
EDIT: Well you or augustine, being you two are the only intelligent and genuinely helpful people here.

sorry i'm from the uk. however, a few of the things worth comparing :
- course style
|-> practical or more theoretical ? what blend are you looking for ?
- differentiators ?
|-> placement as part of program, etc. etc. ?
- do they have some aspect that they pride themselves on ?
|-> eg. cloud, virtual reality, etc. etc. ? if so, how does that fit in with what you are looking for ?
ultimately you are trying to find a university which is a best match for you. therefore you need to think what it is that is primarily important to you whether that be reputation, course content, university ethos or whatever

I think I'm more of a practical person, although a few ventures into theoretical is always fun. I know that RIT prides itself on being the first school to offer a bachelors Software Engineering, which is my focus. As far as the implementation, I'm not really sure yet. I'll probably have to do a bit more looking on the sites before I know. I'm flying over in fall for a visitation to RIT, we might be able to drive to Princeton if their visitation dates are close.
RIT seems to be a good match, but Princeton looks REALLY nice on a resume.

That's my only real concern right now. I can go to RIT pretty much fully paid, the only problem being I need to pay some financial aid back, and at this point in time, i don't know how much "some" is.
I would probably need to pay another 3k or so a year at Princeton.
