Cheat Engine

i'm having some problems about the cheatengine lol.

everytime when i try opening the Select a process, it closes out on me and when i try reopening it, it says i have no permission to use it.
when i check the Security, it only says Everyone and not Administrator.

what's wrong with it?

(Running Win7 ultimate x32.)

What kind of cpu do you have?
Try ce6.0
And what security tools do you use? (E.g. cmodo)

im using ce 6.1 on win 7 64 ultimate so far no problems ,
been using it for about 1-2 weeks ,

i have no AV but i have tried up to 5.6 and right now, only 5.4 seems to work and i have absolutely no idea why that's happening.

do i have to do anything specific?

Try starting CE as an Administrator, right-click it and choose 'Run As Administrator'. You can also try disabling UAC fully on your system:

I'm using windows 7 ultimate x32, but the CE 6.1 works normally. No problems occur although I set full UAC.

I have the same problem, but, it just started to do that after working perfectly for months!
I tried uninstall / reinstall, (didn't work)
disabled all a/v
disabled UAC
problem still persists!

Windows 7 Ultimate
Cheat Engine 6.0

I'm wondering if a windows update or hotfix may be responsible.

Does it also do that when you have no running games or browser running at all? (Everything closed and just the tutorial open)

I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and can't reproduce.

Anyhow, if it's a 32-bit only thing, then try this:
find the dbghelp.dll in your c:\windows\system32 folder, and copy that one over the one in the win32 folder in the ce folder
Perhaps that dll has become outdated

Just dbgview from sysinternals will show some basic info of what is going on

Any other kind of log is pretty much useless in this case

I run Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and don't have this problem. (Windows is up to date as well with all hotfixes etc.)

Do you have any anti-virus software installed Plus9dB996? Perhaps that is conflicting with CE.

I'm reinstalling my os right now. I don't think there will be a problem after that.
