Basically, we get an application, and we need to make it run faster.

This used to run at 4300ms per frame, now it runs at twenty. I need to get 1ms for a straight A. First my milestone was 30FPS, but then I found out that I could get there without multi-threading or SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data, real fast shit). This is my result so far.

The original was a ray-trace application with a filter applied as a post-process. Basically, in layman's terms, you make a ray go out into the world (this room in this application), make it bounce of objects, cast shadows, obtain color information, and return back to the camera. This renders the pixels one by one and gets the result seen in the screenshot.
