G = (N, T, P, S)

Why the fuck do I have to put epsilon as S->epsilon to include it in a grammar instead of just sticking it in language N? Also, questions about syntax and semantics in automatas, at least thats what it is called here.

My half assed guess, by sticking it in S instead of N, epsilon becomes part of the automata, but not an actual portion of the language. Thus, the machine will recognize epsilon, but it is not formally included in the language. Sort of how compilers have a gray area.

i am so sorry. i did compilers course last year and have forgotten that stuff now. i think it's for drawing those graph things right ? i thought the epsilons are for humans where you minimize it and shit with some algorithm.

i do remember reading a really good book on it. if you remind me tomorrow i'll try to give you the name of the book

From where I am now, I only have trouble with that and P, the rewrite rules explanation is shit.
