Posted: Mon Mar 07, 2011 7:05 am Post subject: cheat engine step 8 |

i keep getting error
here the steps i do
1.scan the value 1st ( exact value with 4 bytes)
2.press next value if still have few addresses
3.once having 1 address left i double click to put it on bottom
4.right click on it and click what it write to this address
5.change the value again
6.the line show out
7.click for more info
8.press new scan and tick hex and enter the number
9.1 address show out and i double click to put in on bottom
10.right click the pointer address and click what it access to this address
11.click next value and nw it show 2 lines out ..
what did i do wrong ??
i use cheat engine 6

but still doesnt work for me
it just give me 2 addresses instead of 1

It is set to "All" by default.
If you don't really know what are pointers etc, just use the pointer scanner. It will probably do a better job than you would do manually.

btw
for the 2nd pointer onwards
shld i click look what write in this address
or click look what access in this address
and when go in either of the choices
it say | Code: | this is a point
1.find out what writes this pointer
2.find what writes the address pointed at by this pointer |
and also i keep fail at the 2nd pointer which give me 2 line when i press change value . im using cheat engine 6.0

It is not a problem if there are more codes accessing/writing to the value. The only important thing is to find the base address of the structure as pointers are usually pointing to the base address, which is in most cases the register between the brackets [ ] as the CE tutorial says.

zzzz not ansing my qn.
the problems is i dono what 1 to click
write or access
and sometime i dono which 1
i press change value nth come out
if not 2 line come out instead 1

If you use "access", it will least all codes that are accessing to the value. This that are reading it and those that are writing to it too.
Does it matter if you have 2 lines of codes? Just check both of them and probably you will see that the address for the pointer is the same in both codes. At least in most cases.
