I was walking back and forth in my house and thinking out loud. About being this imaginary hacker named Cardboard.
This hacker would come up with software that acted like hardware -I got the idea from emulators- and simple make-it-yourself programs.
A lot of Programs & Plugins and some like
Packaged Apps: A program that allows a person takes a Program and its files and puts them into one Application
- Right-Click > Click "Ported Files" > To view, edit or update the files of the App
- The file size would be smaller than all the files put together
- Places files placed else in App
7zip Box Plugin: A plugin to enhance 7zip
- Enables Compression from 1GB to 100MB
- Associate Files Together: meaning A Game Folder like San Andreas PC could be compressed and if the application use executed it will still work in the Compressed Form like in a Explorer Folder
- An "Open With" Option
- An "Edit With" Option
- An "Extract ...File to ...7z" Option
I realized that an .IPA is not Apple's lazy way of zipping there apps it basically took 2 ideas that I thought were out of this world and were impossible, those are some of the few I kept to myself and NO I don't think there reading my mind...No I'm not wearing Tin Foil.
The above underline parts are what describes an .IPA, but the way I would describe it as...
A shortcut compressed form file with associated files...
A Shortcut that doesn't lead to a path, but is the file and if the file or folder was moved or renamed it would still work.
When I backup my PC games on my Laptop by compressing them with 7zip. I once tried to run a game or program while it was in compressed form and it asked for the .dll that it said it was missing.
7zip can't even open up more than 5 pictures at a time.
The imaginary Plugin for 7zip would fix that and the Packaged Apps would make it easier to access applications and even allow modification.
When I realized that Apple didn't simply rename there zip file, but Invented a compressing Program or Form that would allow the App to run smoothly with all its parts still compressed.
Apple isn't Lazy, if you can respect Rappers that Rap about the same thing, but some rap about that thing better than others.
Then you would be shocked as I am because back in the day it was about the bling and cars, today its rentals, but there getting better at the rapping.
If someone came up with An IPA Compressor which portabilized folders, makes its shortcut into the Application, associates the program with all its files and it runs fast...
They would be inFamous.

Microsofts Game Studio for their Zune, ZuneHD, and new Windows Phones packages any applications you make like this as well, all of which run fine without much load time. (Depending on the textures and such for the app etc.)
It's not really new technology, and it's just compression. Almost every game today uses some form of archiving to pack things together for both compression and less files visible. Even old games used it. For example all of the Warcraft series and now World of Warcraft all use mpq files to compress everything into a single archive.
There are progs to embed all imported modules into the exe as well for various languages which creates a stub in the executable to extract the files at runtime etc.
The idea isn't really new.

True, but what I'm saying is Apple archived a whole application what if they did the same with everything else.

It's not really hard, you could create a plugin for 7zip to produce mpq files like WoW uses. The format has been reversed and is public. It's that no one feels the need to go in depth like that since the compression ratio isn't better then whats already available.
