Same reason I play runescape, I can turn around and sell shit for cash.
I invested $20 in this game like two weeks ago and now I have $100.
Or rather I will when I get to use this account.

It says I have 2 accounts, both pretty old. I tried logging on and it asked me to create a pirate on both, but I could have sworn I played it earlier. Perhaps I played on the wrong world or they get automatically deleted. Anyway, can't PM so get on MSN or something.

Yes pretty much, it will ask you to make a pirate and then create an account to save it.
You don't have to confirm an email or anything.
